  • Tyre Maintenance and Repair: Perform maintenance and repairs on approximately 50+ in-house vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vehicle Maintenance: Perform a full range of inspections, maintenance, and repair procedures on various heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), trailers, and mechanical equipment. Ensure all work meets DVSA and company standards.
  • Routine Inspections: Conduct scheduled inspections and services to ensure compliance with the company’s operator license and DVSA regulations. This includes pre-MOT inspections as necessary.
  • Fault Diagnosis: Use various diagnostic methods and tools to identify and solve issues with fleet vehicles and trailers.
  • Workshop Maintenance: Test and maintain workshop equipment, ensuring all areas are in good working order. Ensure that materials and equipment are stored correctly, following COSHH and stock control procedures.
  • Documentation: Accurately complete all service and repair documentation, including job cards and service sheets, in accordance with company standards and legal requirements.
  • Health & Safety: Adhere to Health and Safety regulations and company safe systems of work and processes at all times.
  • Workshop Security: Take responsibility for the security of workshops, tools, equipment, and any materials used within the workshop areas.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 GCSEs Grade C or above (or equivalent) including Maths and English.
  • Apprentice trained and qualified to City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, Maintenance & Repair or IMI Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent).
  • At least 2 years of experience servicing and maintaining various HGVs, such as Mercedes, Volvo, DAF, and trailers, is essential. Experience in an HGV dealership, fleet workshop, or VMU servicing environment is also essential.
  • Must have a Full UK Driving License.
  • HGV license and IRTEC qualification are desirable but not mandatory.
